teaching fellow humans about race, queerness, gender

Margaret Jacobsen

I'm a non-binary parent who loves dance parties in the kitchen, all day naps, brunch at anytime, writing articles that challenge, raising plant babies, and leading discussions around dismantling patriarchy, societies expectations with relationships, how to take care of our mental health, and how to build community in all that we do. A photographer + writer by trade, who has fallen into strategy + branding, while teaching fellow humans about race, queerness, gender, and often times plants, and pop culture. I try to do as many things as possible, because why not?

hosts of Polyamory Weekly

Cunning Minx and Lusty Guy

Cunning Minx is the sultry-voiced creator and host of the Polyamory Weekly
podcast, now with over 500 episodes in production. The podcast shares
tales from the front of responsible non-monogamy from a pansexual,
kink-friendly point of view. A kinky boobiesexual, Minx founded the show
as a resource for the poly and poly-curious to form a community, share
experiences and help guide each other on their journeys of poly and kinky
exploration. Minx has been a submissive, bottom and otherwise generally
non-dominant type for the past ten years.

Minx has spoken on poly, kinky and Web 2.0 community-building topics at
ShibariCon, Geek Girl Con, MomentumCon, Atlanta Poly Weekend, Sex 2.0,
Leather Leadership Conference, Dragon*Con, GD2, Heartland Polyamory
Conference, New York Poly Pride and Poly Living. The Poly Weekly podcast
is the winner of the 2007 Erotic Award for Best Podcast and has received
accolades from ErosZine, Fleshbot and the Chicago Sun-Times.

LustyGuy, the controversial co-host of Polyamory Weekly, has never been
monogamous having lost his virginity in a triad during his teen years. He
and his wife L have been non-monogamous for the past 30 years, and his
outspoken ideas on relationship honesty and personal integrity have made
him Poly Weekly’s most popular co-host. Coining phrases such as
“experience shock” (to refer to unexpected poly freakouts) and repurposing
“marking one’s territory” (physical reconnection with a partner after a
date with a lover), LustyGuy brings the married male perspective to
listeners worldwide.

A former pornographer and cashier/janitor at the Seattle LustyLady,
LustyGuy is currently an actor, director, consultant and producer.

licensed professional counselor

Diana F. Ryan

My name is Diana Ryan and I am the owner/operator of 360 Coaching and Counseling, LLC.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in the state of Texas. I am also a nationally certified (International Coaching Federation) Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and sex therapist.

After retiring from the Air Force and three years with federal service I found that I needed to change my focus to helping people find the help they need to make better life choices. I am dedicated to working with all individuals in a process that encourages a shift in how a client thinks, feels and behaves. I work with individuals with a myriad of concerns including depression, anxiety, substance use, and general life skill issues. I specialize in groups that are historically pathologized; individuals with gender identity, sexual identity and expression concerns (LGBTQIA), and relationship structure concerns (consensual non-monogamous) relationships.  This inquiring form of conversation expands the ability of the client to make significant changes, move forward in new areas and feel better.

practices that lead people to an inward search toward their Nature

Maria Luisa Ruiz Luna

Maria Luisa Ruiz Luna is the founder of WellWays, a venture whose goal is to promote a way of living that prioritizes our biological Nature, our individual Nature, well-being, and peace, by facilitating changes at the individual level and at the higher systems level. WellWays provides the tools and space for modern humans to thrive by honoring –and not working against– our original Nature. This entails embracing who we are as unique individuals and as an animal species whose needs can only be met in light of its evolutionary history, its relationship with its environment, and compassionate self-acceptance. WellWays is a response to the fact that we, 21st-century Homo sapiens, are in urgent need to learn how to adapt to our newer habitat and overwhelming rhythms. Widespread depression, pervasive anxiety, and a sick Earth, are all pointing us to the dangers of disregarding our DNA’s information.

A biologist by training and a science communicator at heart, Maria Luisa moved from Peru to the Sonoran Desert fourteen years ago to attend graduate school. She obtained her Master’s degree in neuroscience at The University of Arizona and published her research findings on peer-reviewed journals on cognitive and behavioral sciences.  This upbeat woman has been teaching for over a decade to people of all ages at diverse settings such as yoga studios, Pima Community College, City High School, and public libraries. She has been trained as a Community Health Advisor and as a Wellness Coach by the Mayo Clinic, was a powerhouse behind the creation of Pima County Health Department’s program for mothers in poverty, and helped to develop Tucson Medical Center’s Live Well program.

As a result, Maria Luisa draws on all these experiences to create WellWays experiences that include an unusual combination of theory and practices that lead people to an inward search toward their Nature. Her work leverages on the power of what she has come to learn during her own journey to cope with anxiety, the power of loving kindness, inner inquiry, heart guidance, people’s uniqueness, wilderness connection, experiential learning, scientific findings, and ancient wisdom.

Currently, Maria Luisa offers coaching to individuals and workshops to crowds such as company employees, students at network of people and resources to consolidate efforts, knowledge and tools coming from multiple sources. Sources include academia, indigenous wisdom, and all of us who decide to act upon our exhaustion from the hectic, disconnected, inflammatory ways of our current default world.
